How to Feel Festive with your Dog

This year's Christmas is feeling a little lot different, with restrictions, not seeing family and maybe just not the best way to end 2020!

That said, Christmas is one of my favourite times of year, I love feeling warm and fuzzy inside [oh so cheesy, but oh so true!] The lights on the tree, the smell of the wreath when walking through the front door, buying presents for loved ones and playing Christmas songs on the record player.

I've put together some ideas to help you get into the festive spirit, of course making the most of spending time with our four legged friends too. I could not appreciate Severus & Lily more than I have this year, and I can't wait to spend Christmas with them.

Watch Christmas Films and Snuggle
The best thing to do this time of year, stay in and cuddle. Add a Christmas blanket, maybe some mulled wine and watch a film. ELF, Home Alone and Love Actually are my favourites.
Christmas songs are also my favourite, I love them! Christmas is the time I seem to put on our record player the most.

Wear Matching Christmas Jumpers
...and of course take a photo! Sev and Lily have lots of Christmas jumpers, but when they match mine, it's even better. Our new ones this year are from Aldi, but we have Joules ones from previous years too.
The dogs have a great Christmas wardrobe, honestly, they've been looking awesome all month but will be sharing even more outfits on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day walks.

Drive Through Puppancino
Drive Throughs are still open [no matter your tier] so we suggest heading out for a festive latte and puppaccino. Toffee Nut is my favourite for sure, and the secret menu means your dog will love you even more if you share a treat with them too. Lily gives it 10/10.

Winter Walk
As a dog owner, walking isn't new, but how about heading somewhere you've not been. Walking around towns and villages is so lovely this time of year, finding the best Christmas lights and decorations. I love spotting Christmas tree's in windows, it's such a lovely time of year and I always think the tree is such a focal point of that.

Bake Dog Treats
The joy of this, as someone who can't bake, is that the dogs eat anything- so I know they'd love them!
Treats for humans and hounds, with a hot chocolate and many Lily & Sev cuddles... nothing could be better!
