Whatley Manor, The Cotswolds

Of course we can never stay away from the Cotswolds for long, with so many wonderful places to visit. Last week we got to experience the luxury Whatley Manor Hotel, located near Malmesbury.
Whatley Manor

It's not until you get through the gates of the hotel and you're then greeted with a stunning Cotswold building. Everything as grand and luxurious as you'd hope, and the best bit is that dogs are welcomed too.
Whatley Manor is a stunning restored building, which boasts a passion for quality and excellence, which certainly doesn't let you down.

The Bedrooms
Our hotel was perfect for Sev and Lily, with an entrance to a small garden and terrace area, close to the main gardens and even gorgeous beds for the perfect night sleep. They also had walking routes and a welcome pack of towels, toys and food waiting on our arrival too.
The room was large with a super cosy king size bed, desk and sitting area. The bathroom also shouted luxury with a wonderful bath, which we all know I need, and gorgeous L'Occitane products to use.

Dogs are charged at £30 per night, to cover additional cleaning services.

Dining at Whatley Manor
On arrival we were treated to cream tea, gorgeous scones and pots of tea, while we lounged in the drawing room. While waiting for our room we also got to try a few cocktails from the menu too, which were perfect for a Monday afternoon.

After more evening cocktails we dined in the bar area, due to not being allowed in the restaurant with Sev and Lily. Dogs are allowed to be left in the rooms, however a large part of a dog friendly hotel for us, is that we spend our time with them, so of course this means having somewhere to dine with them too. The menu was simple but perfect, with something for everyone and the service again being wonderful. Sharing nibbles as starters and then Sam had the steak while I enjoyed a ceaser salad, both were wonderful, while the dogs enjoyed their evening chews.

For breakfast we decided to enjoy it in our room, with coffee and tea to start before our breakfast order being delivered shortly after. The menu was amazing, and although we had to rush away in the morning, it was the perfect way to start the day.
On turn down the evening before, the menu is left with a wonderful selection of pastries, cooked options, lighter meals and teas & coffee's too. Room service isn't something we usually experience, but I am so glad we did, as it was such a treat.

Dog Friendly
Sev and Lily were treated wonderfully at Whatley Manor, with fusses everywhere they went, water bowls offered to them, and the wonderful in room treats. The hotel is pure luxury, and wonderfully dog friendly- not just "dogs allowed".
The garden and grounds are stunning, and although there many walks to and from the hotel, Whatley Manors own gardens are more than enough. Dogs are allowed off lead [but in sight] in the gardens with respect of the stunning flowers, and there is even a wonderful stream and large open area for them to run free.
Both other guests and all the staff were wonderful with Sev and Lily, treating them so well, that we all felt so welcomed being there.

The Spa
Sadly with the dogs, the spa wasn't a facility we could try, but a dog friendly stay is more important to us. However it does look wonderful, and no doubt somewhere we'd love to try in the future.
The pool is stunning overlooking the outside spa and hydrotherapy pool, along with day and evening packages to enjoy, different treatments are available to feel truly pampered. Champagne and light refreshments are available, meaning you don't have to worry about anything all day!

The LocationWhatley Manor is the perfect Cotswold luxury hotel, with a feel of countryside getaway, with Dubarry Boots and wellies to use when exploring. Walking routes are available from reception, for both human and hound. From a walk to the pub in the near by town, or just around the stunning country fields, there's something for everyone to escape on your pet-away.
