Dog Holiday in France

Severus and Lily get to travel [with us humans] a lot, mainly to try out wonderful dog friendly hotels and cottages as well as being treated on our holidays too.
Earlier this month Sev and Lily joined us on their first international adventure, for a dog Holiday in France.Dog Holiday in France
After searching Pets Pyjamas and finding the perfect dog friendly gite and getting excited for the last five months, the time came to pack the pooches in the car and head to France, via the Eurotunnel. Everything was super easy and simple [I'll be do a full blog post about our travel experience] and on Monday evening we arrived at the beautiful Le Chateau de la Motte.

Le Chateau de la Motte is based in the French countryside of Normandy. Roughly a three hour drive for Calais and situated close to some bigger towns to explore and adventure.

Benji's Gite is a very sweet and traditionally French cottage, suitable for two people. With a very updated kitchen and bathroom, but feeling perfectly French with the large living area and bedroom. The dogs were welcomed all around the gite, as well as the grounds, featuring a lake with row boat, pond, woodland area....and many ducks to chase too! Not only this, but the owners them self have seven wonderfully gorgeous spaniels.

Benji's Gite was certainly everything we wanted from a French pet-away, with stunning grounds and such pretty towns a short drive away. Most days were spent exploring new towns [which we shall share in another post] tasting pastries and enjoying the ever so French streets and houses.
Most evenings were spent with a glass of wine in hand, enjoying the sunshine whilst walking the dogs around the wonderful gardens before they had a little swim and chased the ball in the lake.

The owners of the Gite are English, making it an even more relaxing holiday and ever so welcoming too. Although not needed, they even booked a Vet appointment for the return journey to the UK as well as supplying us with wonderful wine, cheese and bread to welcome us on the first evening.

This has most certainly opened up a whole range on Countries and Cities on the list to try, the world is our oyster and along with Sev & Lily we can't wait to explore it all ♥
