Brecon Retreat: Luxury Dog Friendly Accommodation

Since bringing Sevvy into our lives, and possibly just getting a little old, luxury places to stay have become really important. Gone are the days that a Travelodge will do (although of course they do come in handy every now and again) I always look for the best. The most cosy, sweet, picture perfect place to stay...that welcomes the dogs too.

First setting eyes on Brecon Retreat earlier in the year, Sam, Sev, Lily and I were able to have a week there enjoying the gorgeous Welsh countryside as well as the stunning lodge with hot tub and fire- my two favoruites!
After chatting to the lovely owner more and more, we were kindly invited down again, but this time to try the house, Swn Yr Afon "Sound of the River". A stunning 4 bedroom house with a cosy living room, gorgeous country-feel kitchen, games room, cinema lodge and that all important hot tub.

Not only does the house feel like total luxury, it's wonderfully dog friendly too. Having the love that Helen has for her Springer Spaniel transfer to what you'd like when you pack your pooch, too.
The large garden is filled with agility equipment, and runs down to the river that flows by the house- perfect for any water loving spaniels, like ours. Not only this, but there is a fenced in area for them too, meaning that they'll be 100% secure if they do like to hunt out an escape route.

Severus and Lily were welcomed with a lovely box, full of treats, doggy bags and shampoo- for those muddy paws. Having their own beds down by the radiator in the kitchen, and dog bowls all set up ready for them too. Pampered as soon as we came in the door- only the best for our best.
They also supply dog tags, to use on the stay, just in case the four-legs go wandering the "I'm staying at Brecon Retreat" tags are the perfect idea to attach to the dog collar ♥

Bringing our friends along Sarah and Tom, as well as inviting Emma and James [from Alfie Bear] we were set with 6 adults and 3 spaniels, all ready to have the best weekend. Having such a large house is really perfect for getting friends and family together, celebrating Birthdays or just escaping with the ones you love. Having such wonderful friends with us and being able to bring the dogs too, was such a delight.

Although we made the most of our time in Wales, hunting out the best dog friendly places to eat and visit, we'd always get back to our gorgeous luxury home to make the most of the hot tub and cosy fire place. Stay-cations are perfect any time of year, but I rather like when the nights draw in meaning that it's best to get in your PJ's early...probably with a glass of prosecco and a cuddly puppy by your side.

Both hounds and humans had the best time, feeling like we've been truly spoilt and not really believing that was our house for a few nights. With December on it's way, I can only imagine how lovely it would be in the Festive season but still feel so homely and special too.

There are still dates available for December and January, in both the gorgeous lodge and the stunning house, so it's the perfect excuse to get the family together and make some wonderful memories! I've personally got my eyes on a little Birthday stay, but I know Summer time would be wonderful too, to make the most of the BBQ and stunning garden.
