Experience Days. Marriott Pamper Day

Thursday, 28 March 2013

Last week I was treated to a spa day from Experience Days at the Marriott hotel in Birmingham ♥

The Marriott Pamper Day for two boasts "A replenishment, respite and rejuvenation for mind, body and soul. The award-winning health and beauty treatments available
at any of the centres will provide exactly that, as you relax and unwind at the expertly gentle hands of the Marriott's trained professionals."
After a very busy night duty, I was super excited about getting up there and having a relaxing and pamper day with Mother Dear. We both had a treatment booked, a massage for Mum and a facial for myself, as well as that we got to use the facilities through the day.

The closet & easiest Marriott with the Spa to us, is Birmingham, and that isn't the quickest of drives. After a little getting lost and going round in circles (just a few times!) we found our way and made it just in time for Mum's appointment.
The staff there were very friendly, and generally lovely. Our beauty therapist, Elizabeth, was a doll. My Mum really enjoyed her massage, she was super relaxed after it and felt rather refreshed. My facial was soon after and again I loved it, I have never had one before, and it was wonderful. They used Declor products, which smelt wonderful, and made my face feel amazing. The appointments last roughly 25 minutes each, and after I met my Mum by the pool for a swim and steam room session.
The spa-Jacuzzi was unfortunately not working, which we weren't informed about when we arrived. Nothing too serious, but having spent over an hour getting there, it would have been nice to spend some time in there (they're always my favourite bit!) The pool area was lovely though, it was all very relaxing and pretty, we had a swim, have a snooze and generally just enjoyed our day there.

Over all our day was lovely and relaxing, although I felt so tired and had an early night afterwards. The pool area was so quiet the whole day, so going on a weekday really paid off there. I was gutted about the spa, and I found the changing rooms a little dirty and not kept too well. It wasn't awful, but when you spend money on a special day, I think you expect everything to be special. Having a centre closer to home would have been a little easier too, hello anything in the South West?
We finished our time with a drink and chicken salad (which was amazinggggg) in their Bar & Grill. They also do cream and afternoon tea, which looked amazing. If you were really wanting to spoil someone, or be spoilt, that would be the perfect ending to a lovely day.

Thank you Experience Days
